Travel FAQs
Does my regular medical plan cover me internationally?
Your BCBSTX plan provides limited international coverage for emergencies. Business travel insurance provides broader coverage specifically for work trips.
Do I need to register every trip?
Yes. Booking through the approved CHUBB Travel Service Portal registers your trip automatically and ensures you're covered under BMC's travel insurance and assistance programs. For international travel, take the additional step of saving emergency contact numbers and reviewing destination-specific health advisories before you leave.
What if I need to extend my trip due to illness?
Contact your travel assistance provider immediately — they're available 24/7 and can help coordinate medical care, adjust your travel arrangements, and advise on coverage for the extended stay. If you receive medical treatment, keep all documentation for your travel insurance claim when you return.
